The Health Lottery is made up of 51 different local society lotteries, each representing at least one local authority area within England, Scotland and Wales. Each society lottery is licensed by the Gambling Commission and operates as an individual Community Interest Company, or CIC. Every week a different CIC benefits from lottery sales taken for all draws in that week. This rotation system ensures that every region gets a share of the pot. The money raised is then donated to support health-related good causes within their respective local areas. There are currently five £1 game draws each week (Tuesday - Saturday). Players choose five different numbers between 1 and 50 and must match at least three in order to win a prize. The Health Lottery can be played online or in-store at over 32,000 retail outlets.
