Unitas guests raise £23,000 for Sheffield hospice

Guests at Unitas’ Connect Awards dinner in March raised over £23,000 for the Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice in Sheffield with the help of Deal or No Deal and Dancing on Ice presenter Stephen Mulhearn.

Unitas has been a long-term supporter of the charity in North Anston, a few miles from its Doncaster Support Centre. The 650 attendees at the dinner, part of the connect24 trade show in Liverpool, donated through raffle, and an auction of a day at the recording of Deal or No Deal followed by dinner with Stephen Mulhearn.

The donations totalled an amazing £23,860 which was delivered to Bluebell Wood by Unitas Managing Director John Kinney and Head of Marketing and Communications Tracey Redfearn.

John Kinney said: “We were blown away by the generosity of our guests and their willingness to support cause that means such a lot to the team here. We have seen the work that Bluebell Wood does for children and their families as they face the most heartbreaking times imaginable, and we’re very proud to do our bit to help.”
